The Governor's Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse is honored to dedicate this Resource Directory to all the brave men and women of New Jersey who have served in the US Armed Forces in defense of our freedom. The War on Terrorism, since its start in 2001, has relied upon our citizen soldiers, National Guard and Reserve Units, in addition to active service personnel.

The continuing personal and family sacrifices in service to our nation involve long periods of deployment to the war zone leaving many military families feeling isolated and confused. All of these difficulties, as well as the combat experience itself, can cause both visible and uinseen wounds for veterans and their families. This guide was created by the Governor's Council Veterans Committee to help provide information and resources to help support our military veterans and families with the challenges they might face.
